HCCI Employee Orientation: Week 7

This week you will explore HCCI’s capacity for hands-on training in some of the procedure commonly performed in the home. You’ll explore wound care and medical procedures such as trach care, G-tube replacement, and knee injections – skills that are critical in supporting patients who prefer or require care outside of clinical settings.

Learning Objectives

  • Upon completion, you will be able to:
    • Describe common home-based medical procedures, including gastrostomy tube and tracheostomy care.
    • Recognize when and how to provide knee joint aspiration and injection services safely in the home setting.
    • Discuss wound care protocols for homebound patients.
    • Use available procedure guides to promote safe, compliant, and effective clinical care at home.

Audience

These online courses and educational resources are intended for physicians and advanced practice providers (NPs, PAs).
